Balaji Law College (BLC)
is at the forefront of providing opportunities to the
students for interactive workshops, seminars and organizing
meetings with prominent personalities in the field of
Law.
The College had organized this unique workshop on personality
development on the 26th September 2003. Mrs. Sumitra
Das conducted the workshop and it was truly an eye opening
experience for the law students, besides also being
a thoroughly enjoyable one.
“ As you sow, so shall you reap”. After
receiving so much the students were bound to give returns
and so they did! Amit Bhandari and
Aditya Khadria, a two student team
represented Balaji Law College in the Justice Gajendra
Gadkar Moot Court Competition held in University
of Pune on 19th Sept. 2003, and they stood 2nd in this
competition. Another team of three students Amit
Bhandari, Naina Sinha and
Eklavya Lall participated in the Henry
Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition organized
by Indian Society of International Law in Collaboration
with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) on
International Humanitarian Law, New Delhi on 19th October
2003. The students stood 2nd in Maharashtra and 14th
in India amongst the 56 teams participating all over
India.
A proud achievement for Balaji Law College and a statement
on the effort put in by the faculty and students.
Prof. Mrs. Sharmila Jain-Oswal, Principal Balaji Law
College presented her paper for State Level Seminar
of Information Technology Law organized by Vidya Pratishtan
Law College, Baramati in collaboration with Maharashtra
Law Academy, Pune on 18th October 2003. Her paper mainly
emphasized on the problems faced by law due to the emergence
of New Information Technology and also suggested the
measures to these problems.
Prof. Mrs. Sharmila Jain-Oswal was amongst one of the
invitees from all over Maharashtra to attend the opening
of the Canadian Consulate General Office held at Chandigarh,
where in she discussed about the 3rd meeting of the
Indo-Canadian Legal form meeting at Ottawa and also
about the establishment of the (Professeurs Pour LibertA
c) and its contribution towards giving quality education
to African and Asian students.
Prof. Swati Kapre (Lecturer), Balaji Law College delivered
a guest lecture on the topic ‘Prevention of Immoral
Trafficking Act (PITA) & Laws Related to Prostitutes’,
in the sex workers conducted by a social welfare organization
“Kayakalpa” on 9th September 2003.
